Rijk’s Estate – Touch of Oak Chenin Blanc

Stone-fruit aromas dominate the nose with hints of citrus, quince and pine nut.

100% Chenin Blanc

Medium bodied white wine, fruit driven.

Tasting Notes

Complex nose of pomegranate and freshly squeezed passion fruit culminating as a rich, creamy bouquet. The multi-layered and balanced palate is well poised with refined oak flavours which makes this a well-rounded wine with great finesse. The presence of a lively acid makes this a wine to enjoy on many different occasions and seasons.

In the Vineyard

Soil: Low yielding, well drained vertical shale/schist.

Grapes were gently crushed and pressed. The majority of the wine was cold fermented to show freshness and fruit. It was kept on the lees for 11 months to give the wine a creamy mouth-feel. 25% of barrel-fermented wine was blended with the tank-fermented portion (75%) to add a wooded dimension.
